Reading Rainbow Parody Requel

First and foremost, if you haven't seen the original parody we did, stop now and watch it. Second, watch this in high quality.

Once again, things go awry as Levar Burton decides to make Reading Rainbow appeal to his former viewers, now grown up and in college. Mostly a parody of the "You don't have to take my word for it" section of the show.

This video was made approximately four years after the original. We thought it would be interesting to show how we'd changed in both appearance and skill. As many original actors as possible were featured. Nate Brown and Justin Kreun were replaced by Matt Markovetz and Robbie Banks.

OK if you threw it together in day I'll cut you some slack. As for your Office question, I think audiences are more aware of akward moments now that laugh tracks are becoming obsolete and so they make the comparison to one of the "pinoneers" of this style on American TV.

I really did like your old video and your others, I was just a little disappointed with this one.

Understandable. I'll be uploading another video in two parts pretty soon. We filmed it about a year ago, but I've been too lazy to upload it until now. That one might be disappointing as well. I dunno.

I thought the previous video was funnier. The original had children's books, which stayed with the theme of the show.

Why didn't you just write a parody with new jokes instead of recycling old ones? The pacing and rhythm of the comedy is off. You have a beat after like every joke, trying to get that awkward "Office style" laugh instead of doing the quick cut, random style jokes found in the first video.

Finally the random group shots are not related to anything and not funny, just odd.

The point of this video was largely for comparison to the old one, to see how we'd changed. It was made largely for our friends who were familiar with the original. Also, we threw this together in a day. Hence the "recycled" jokes.

Aside from that, why does everyone assume you're trying to copy The Office when you use awkward moments? Come on. It's not like awkwardness didn't exist before that show.

Aaaanyhow. I'm sure you're not alone in preferring the old video to this one.
