At a later date, I will post the whole gig converted from tape but of a much lesser quality. This selection is incomplete. This was the 13th tune (of 15) played in this two hour broadcast.

Vocals: Wuta Mayi, Josky Kiambukuta, Ndombe Opetum.

Studio version is here:

  • Treat me as a beginner n tell me the name of the long haired guitarist playing nxt 2 th Master. Someone plz......

  • @tbwanat Michelino, the composer of this one.

  • Thanks a lot... you are the wikipedia of lingala music...great work man

what role did Gerry play then cause there is hardly any composition that i dont see him. he seems to have played a pivotal role in the band

  • @jagemakala No, I'm not, I do not have a clue about the kofis and werrasons of today. Well, in a sense perhaps, because I do not even call that music or African for that matter. Anyway, you were right about Gerry's role in the first place, solo guitar, as Michelino does in this one. Only later on. Papa Noel did the same and Dizzy Mandjeku in the last three or four years of Franco's life in Franco compositions on record.

  • Thanks Abubakar for the great work. I see here both Maestro, Gerry Dialungana and Michelino both playing at the same time. Who's playing what between Gerry and Michelino?..cause i thought both should be on solo. Well, the Maestro is most likely playing mi-solo here since i didnt see Thiery Mantuika. Again who is playing rythm here?, I dint manage to see Ge'ge or the poet on this...but i may be wrong. thanks

  • @jagemakala Not Gerry, it's Gégé Mangaya on rhythm guitar.

  • It will take one hundred years of hard work to ever produce music like this again. So peaceful it can be played every where. Thank you for letting us share it with those who have just discovered it.

  • Did anyone notice the maestro at 4:57? He was having a great time it seems

  • Tala esimbeli ya micro bakulu bazo ganga te bazo yemba nde, Kongo salutes you...

  • @koyoko2003 Michelino is the guitarist to the right of Franco in this video. Best seen from .30-45 seconds into the video, with the biggest Afro. Enjoy
