After our devastating earthquake here in Christchurch, many if not most churches were destroyed or at least badly damaged.
As a city we were in shock and in grief as our countrymen continued to be dug out from the rubble, and the death toll climbed daily.
In this background, St Mark's Church decided to hold an open air mass on the grounds of their adjoining school. They invited the entire community to come a long for a service of unity, healing, mourning and celebration.
It was a powerful service where we all came together to say that we were still here, together, united, supporting each other into our newly uncertain future.
