Sorry, mate... there's no reasoning with the human heart. My longest relationship lasted 2 1/2 years, but I was the one who broke that off because I was being physically abused... Unfortunately, it taught me not to trust, and I've never been able to allow myself to be that vulnerable again... Just try to stay open to your feelings and not shut down, hard as that may be... You have many years ahead of you and you deserve to have someone to share them with. Hugs.
