Boehner Highlights Several Inaccuracies in Obama's Address to Congress

Republican Leader Boehner yesterday addressed several inaccuracies in the President's remarks to Congress. In this video, Boehner notes that under the Democrats' government takeover of health care, millions of workers will be forced into a government-run plan and Democrats rejected two amendments to their bill making it clear that illegal immigrants would not be receive taxpayer-funded benefits.

Obama's speech was just a continuation of the same lies and distortions that he and other liberal Democrats have been spewing for months. The speech was erratic, irrational, contradictory and confrontational; Obama's cheap partisan attacks against Republicans were inappropriate and showed a complete lack of leadership and understanding for his position.

I appreciate Leader Boehner and the GOP informing the American people about the lies and myths about their destructive health care plan.

Hydra, agreed. I've contacted my reps about the bill, and I fervently hope that everyone else voices their objections as well. If that bill passes, it will be a tragedy for the republic.

It needs the be challenged now. No bill should even pass, if it violates the Constitution.

I have contacted my Reps explaining these violations. I suggest everyone does the same. This will be the biggest transfer of power in history. Which ALL he wants.

Rationalnow, if the HC bill passes, it will be a fiscal nightmare -- 900 billion PLUS over 10 years. With this and all the other spending that's being done, sooner or later the U.S. dollar will crash and massive hyperinflation result. Think Germany in the '30s when a person had to bring in a wheelbarrow full of German marks just to buy a loaf of bread.

It is more control over our very lives by the government. and, of course, wealth destruction, which will end in more dependence upon the government.

All we need is a two page bill that requires that those with pre existing conditions be covered at a reasonable rate and grouped into plans like everyone else, and end to the prescriptions drug bill that we can not afford taking those savings to save Medicare, portability and reasonable tort reform.

I want to know more about those 2 amendments that the Dem's refused to allow in the bill. The Dem's and their supporters are insisting that this bill will not allow illegals to participate.  My understanding is that - it will be challenged in court, and when that happens, the court is likely to rule that they will be covered by this bill. Do you have the specifics - in a nutshell?

And why can't a republicans clearly explain this? Boehner kind of does this, but it's still not clear enough.
