  • The thing that I am dreading is the essay section. Writing is a creative process and, for me, it involves an enormous energy expenditure. And the two essays come first on the exam! I wish the exam had them last, at least then I would be done with the quantitative part, which I really need energy for.

  • @strawberryseason I know, the essay section isn't that much fun! I actually dislike it because I think it's the most subjective of all three sections. However, if you do your research, it is easier to find out how to improve your score with simple techniques like good structure, length, and key words. Which makes the whole process a little sad (trite phrases shouldn't get you a better score), but hey... at least the knowledge helps.

  • u are cute but unfortunately the info is nothing special

  • @GREchicks One thing I concerned about is having an essay grader who is not familiar with the social sciences, my area. I guess I will have to make sure I explain terms I use in the essay.

  • @GREchicks Yes, at some point the people designing the test thought that adding an essay section was a good idea .. but those are the same people who were able to avoid that in their own GREs. I really dislike having something so subjective as part of the test. I didn't know about the favorite phrases and words that the graders prefer ... I will have to research that.
