When was the last time a president asked your opinion?
Well. here's your chance to have some direct input
in the political process.
The number ONE issue right now (on this ballot)
is the legalization of marijuana.
One American in 100, one percent of all Americans,
are in prison today, and perhaps the biggest reason
is the 800,000 Americans arrested each year
for the simple, non-violent possession of this plant.
We spend $44 Billion dollars per year,
kill tens of thousands of people,
forfeit many constitutional freedoms and protections,
support organized crime and gangs,
destroy hundreds of thousands of careers and families,
and have failed to make a dent in the availability and consumption
of cannabis, the safest and arguably most effective
therapeutic agent we know of.
It's time to end the madness and rethink our approach.

You may vote on a maximum of ten proposals.
There are many to choose from:
health care, environmental protection, racial profiling,
repealing the "Patriot Act", homelessness, abortion,
financial stimulus packages, ending the invasion of Iraq,
closing Guantanamo prison camp, animal rights...

You'll have no shortage of issues to consider.

Please vote.
Please spread the word.
And please hurry.

Thank you.

Thanks to all who participated in this historical event.

    Democracy in action!

I hope you are all more or less happy with the results.

I am, and I'm excited to see Mr. Obama

    apparently upholding his commitment

to listen to and represent We, The People.

We really can change the world!

    Peace to each of you,

    Shas

  • my better half and i still believe marijuana leads to more harmful drugs after pot loses it's intrigue and appeal. our vote is still "no" to legalization of it.

  • its cool that you told people to vote against it if they dont like it.

isnt this the same site that legalization of marijuana was the #1 topic, and then obama laughed at it, and said it was "one of the more popular subjects" and insulted people -everyone- who uses the internet. ? I think it is... what else can I say you hit it right on.

  • Yes prison reforn and drug reform is a must. They are maeing law abiding peacefull citizens criminals for there own profit. The profit dont just come from the housing of these individuals btu they also make them work. Yes leagleized slavery. The idea that a citizen can loose all their rights because of something as harmless as smoking pot (in your own home to boot) is just absurd. Peace and Liberty for all.

  • i just saw your vid shas i cant believe i missed it but i believe they said they will have a second round for voting on it, so ill be definitely be watching out for that. END THE PROHIBITION ON MARIJUANA!

  • Yup Shas, I agree with you 110%!! The part of the video where you said you offered the sheriff to burn with you is hillarious!! :) What it all comes down to is the all mighty dollar and corrupt politicians, lobbists and business people who can make the most money....that's what it's all about, in my opinion. President Obama has a lot of work ahead. Hopefully he is open minded to new ideas and will be able to pull it off!!

    Aloha & Malama Pono.

  • Thanks shas. You speak of organized crime. This was once a phenomenon isolated to black market activities primarily originating with the Mafia. Unfortunately, organized crime IS the government now. How much will and can Obama accomplish in correcting this? That is more up to us than many of us realize.

Hope you feel better, my friend.

  • yeah unfortunatley.

i was gonna say. yeah. its a good thing!!!

i also noticed that stuff in the side bar with recent news about legalization.

  • Thanks for saying what needs to be said. I voted for the #1 issue. I hope it gets Obama's attention. This will be a good chance to see if, we the people, have any say in what our government actually does. Sadly, however, there are alot of corporate, government and criminal interests, who will vigorously oppose this.
