  • She is really one of the last german sopranos who have this little something in her voice and personallity, a real artist! BRAVA! And Richter is astonishing!

  • I told Richter straight away, I could not check the correction of the recordings, because I was too overwhelmed. It was really hard work to sing "Amore".

  • No problem!

  • My God, thank you soooo much for traslating this tender story :) Ciao!

  • Thank you!!!!

  • But my father told me, that I must go to Munich ("Du musst fahren"). These were my father's last words to me. And it has become my "motto": "Du musst fahren" -- You must go. And when I was feeling horrible, I remembered these words: You must go. And that is what I did. So then I met Richter and he gave me his deepest sympathy. He knew about my father's death; it had spread around fast: in all newspapers [...].

  • I had a commitment, through the Deutsche Grammophon, that "Orfeo" from Gluck would be recorded with Dietrich Fisher-Dieskau and Janowitz, where I should sing the role of "Amore". Of course, I prepared myself very well. And one day after my father's death, I should appear in Munich [...]. I had spoken with my father before, and I told him that I would stay by him, because he was ill at the time; even though I should introduced myself to Karajan and afterwards to Richter in Munich.

  • Please someone explain what is she saying? and what is all of this about?

  • notice how long she speaks for before needing a breath :)
