  • Totally the wrong chord arrangement, but works in a pretty kinda way. Jamie aint a pretty sounding song, even when done acoustically. Keep at it ;)

  • @splatterngore I normally don't reply to comments, and even though this video is like 2 years old, these chords are all right...I don't know what your talking about. And Jamie is a beautiful song buddy.

  • @jeff91296 - firstly, please dont think i was saying this was bad. im not. Theres many mistakes in this version of jamie. The chords you play are totally different than the weezer studio album version. Of course, it can be reworked acoustically, but even Rivers (the song writer) doesnt play it this way acoustically. I wasnt slagging you off. far from it. its good to see a young kid playing guitar. you're not consistent in your chord changes but that comes with age and practise.

  • @splatterngore How are they totally different? The chords in the studio version are G-D and those prechorus chords are the same too. Sure, they may be bar chords, but a barred G is basically the same as a normal one.....

  • One of my favorite Weezer songs, just because it is so beautiful and heartfelt. Good job on this cover! Keep it up.

  • splattergnore stfu. I've peen playing guitar for at least 5 years now and this is one of the first songs I learnt. There are no weird chord structures. It's a straight forward chord progression; no surprises whatsoever. Also, nice cover my friend :)

  • lol splatterngore continues to spew off bullshit like he knows what hes talking about. stfu kid. the song is in G major, its just tuned down a half step like most weezer songs are. so when river plays it it sounds like F# but it doesnt really matter. people who cover songs change the original keys all the time (to better suit ones singing range) and as long as the chord progression is right it will always sound relatively the same.

  • @jeff91296 - Part 2 of my message. you open jamie with G and D. Thats wrong. check the link i sent again. click on the blue button 'play on songsterrr'. A video loads up telling you all the chords needed, which fingers to use, what the actual guitar is tuned like and you can hear all of it, as it should be. The 1st chord is F#5 and the 2nd is C#add11. Wen u click the blue button it shows exactly wot 2 play. The 2 chords i just mentioned are named those due to the way rivers tuned his guitar.

  • @jeff91296 - its not. check them again. theres lots of wierd chord structures in jamie, and you dont play any of them. you use normal chord structures. The tuning of the guitar is different too. you appear to be using a standard concert pitch tuning. Jamie isnt standard tuning. thats why it sounds "lazy/sloppy" on the original. Rivers uses some weird chord structures for lots of songs he writes. Jamie is no exception. You need to check the TAB in the link i sent you and try playing it that way.
