Republican Candidates Call for Repeal of Seventeenth Amendment
...What a supprise! the 17th Amendment, which was ratified in 1913 and which provides for the direct election of U.S. senators. Prior to the amendment, senators were designated by state legislatures

Of course this started in the 60's with the civil rights movement and now has become a science used to rule people. This is why conservatives are wanting a roll back to the constitution.

And to add about the measure that got passed in California just on Tuesday, it's to include the California state Assembly, Senate, and congressional districts. Hopefully now we'll have districts that will be in squares like they should. And I hope it will be an end to these weird shaped districts. And you know what they say. What happens in California, spreads around the nation. And I think taking the redistricting process out of the hands of politicians is what we need.

Lets be honest. Both the Democrats and Republicans are guilty over gerrymandering. Who's ides was it that the politicians in this country can be trusted in drawing up districts? It's clear that they only draw it up to make sure that it's just mostly voters of their own party. Or maybe to make sure that no asian or latino challenges them. But here in California, we passed a measure to take it out of the hands of the politicians into a 14 person commission.

This was what made "Chavez" to have the majority in the "National Assembly"
When the rulers of a nation are no longer appointed by the people, but now appoint themselves, you no longer live in a representative democracy..... Americans need to worry less about killing Arabs for "our Freedom" and more about the people actually taking it away.
