Jan Sterling & Phyllis Thaxter are escorted into stir by the great
actress Lorna Thayer (1919-2005). Born in Boston, Thayer worked in
films from 1952 thru 1991. Here she plays a sympathetic prison matron.
Her most famous role, however, was the harried waitress who refuses to
bring jack Nicholson a "side order of wheat toast" in FIVE EASY PIECES
(1970)
