The Oilers/Steelers games were, by far, some of the grittiest, hardest-fought games of the late 70's/early 80's. The only rivalry that even comes close would be Cowboys/Redskins. Dan Pastorini was the classic achiever, based on his heart and passion, and, he had one of the strongest arms in the NFL. He could chuck the ball downfield 70 yards. I once saw him throw a super-quick, short, TD pass between two defenders that even the announcers didn't know was caught. Big Heart and raw talent.

Dan Pastorini was not the first person in history (NFL or otherwise) to wear a flak jacket.
Joe Namath wore one in Super Bowl III. Ten years before DP.

The oilers didn't have bad teams,
The Steelers were just better in the late 70's.
EVERYTEAM got beat by the steelers.
As an oiler fan in Houston it broke my heart everytime they came up short against them.

Yeah, give it up for Pastorini! He was tough, and a great leader. Shame he played most of his years with some bad Oilers teams
