What do you do if you have a PS3 that does not have a HDD access panel. Does my sone have aone that is not upgradeable?

@PCRescueRepair I have a problem. I have an original 40Gb PS3 (fat), and I'm upgrading with a 500Gb Samsung 2.5 inch SATA internal drive. I've followed all the steps to the letter, and when I restart my PS3 with the new hard drive it straight away comes up with the following message:
"Cannot start
Cannot find a connected hard disk." (or something like that)
Do you have any idea what's wrong with my set up?

Make sure you format the HDD as fat32 file system not NTFS.

Once you restore the saved stuff on the new hard drive, you will have EVERYTHING on the system that you had before? Plus more space?

You can use a drill with a small drill bit to grind the screw out. be careful not to push in the drill to hard.
