Meanwhile,
Personally, I agree with Bernstein's Theory that
the lyric has to change with "Freiheit" I/O "Freude".
I also think that "Freiheit" fits the sense of the words of Ode An die Freude Poetry than "Freude".
Especially, The Word of Poetry :
"Deine Zauber Binden Wieder,Was Die Mode Streng Getheilt,
Alle Menschen Werden Brüder, Wo Dein Sanfter Flügel Weilt."
I Think,This Means NOT "Freude" BUT "Freiheit" Exactly...
Alle Meine Brüder Aus Berlin Sing Together "Freiheit~~♬" with this subtitle.

the most perfectly articulated version on u tube...i never have heard no 9 like this.. most other perfomances are just powerful.. but this one is just like telling story. all of chorus members reciting the poem, subltly, softly, powerfully, all of sentiment are in here..perfect absolutely!!!!!!
