  • diptanshu.. Bless yu buddy.. just for doing what you have to dotara... i play the sarod so i know how tough it is what you have done.. Blees u bro

  • @cacofonixx glad u enjoyed it... i cant play much on it though :p

  • Where can I buy one of those dotara ? how much would it cost in USD ? I really want to buy one that looks like that. If anyone could help me out, please let me know.

  • @Daedalus294 they dont cost much but they are quite fragile and they do not come in a hard box! this ones about 50 USD. but then the place is like a village and there is cost involved in going there in a train, staying overnight and getting it... and i guess shipping will also cost a lot nothing less than 100 USD... i have to check...

the ideal thing is to ask someone to carry it for you... so unless u badly need it right away its best to wait till u travel this side.

  • Can you please tell me the name of the song ?? And also I am learning to play dotara, but the person teaching me not dont know about octde ( but he is damn good in playing it ) and and I am having tough time just to hear the misic and playing it, any suggestion ???

  • @neelofazrath folk music is learnt by ear... i dont even have a teacher... just picked it by ear and no clue about the name

  • Diptanshu, I tune my dotara strings as follows: the first string (inner) G sharp. The middle two strings C sharp and the outer string F sharp. Can you please tell me how you tuned your dotara;s four strings? It seems that you tuned the middle two stings differently. Am I right? Thanks.

  • Very beautiful...very good job done. Really enjoyed it.

Is it possible for you to arrange one dotara for me, I'm based out of New Delhi and can't find it here.
