When Connor was younger he used to be able to walk. In this film made by the charity Jeans for Genes we find out how he and his brother Luke inherited Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a progressive muscle wasting condition, and what its like when people see your wheelchair before they see you.

  • I am 23 & have cerebral palsy. I use a wheelchair & live independently. I try to stay positive though its not always easy. We must find a way to do all that we want in life even if it involves a bit of creative thinking to find way round things. My friends are an essential support to me. You're family seem lovely and I loved the realism in the way you described your life with them. Nothing's going to stop this little lady and it seems nothings going to stop you either. Wishing you all the best.

  • Connor, I would like to wish you and your family all the best for the future. My partner lives with LGMD and it's never easy.. he has been in a wheelchair the whole time I've known him and he is so positive and happy, very much like you. I hope that one day you find yourself a beautiful girl who will love you for you, and see past the wheelchair. I have a lot of trouble with my family not understanding why I choose to love him, because they don't see past the chair. God Bless xxx

  • Connor, you are the most positive teenager I've ever seen!

  • connor, you are so inspirational. You look so happy and sound so positive in your life. A lot of able bodied people in this world including myself think we have a real bad life most of the time and seeing your video. It has put myself to shame. I have to thankyou for getting me to take a look at myself. What a brilliant young guy you are. Best wishes to you and your family. Have a great new year. steve
