@TheZachalope I'm surprised you would infer things like the U.S. MB 560 not existing or the Lincoln Continental not having dual airbags till '93, when it was announced in May 1988 the '89 model would equip them as standard would be the 2nd worldwide after Porsche. Dual airbags for Porsche's 944 Turbo for 1987 & 1988 944 S & Turbo S have NOTHING to do w/DOT. No, again the Taurus didn't have standard until MY1994 in 1993. As I sadly said before, please do some research as you're highly incorrect.

@TheZachalope Nope, the 560SEL was most certainly sold in the United States as was the 560SEC coupe. I'm surprised you would even say that when they are numerous examples of the U.S. spec. 560SELs dating back to Q3 1985. Acura's 1993 Legend had standard dual airbags. December 1993 would've been the facelifted '94 model, which dual airbags weren't new to. The '91 model had them standard on the LS Trim. Not all 944s had them until 1989, only the Turbo. Sorry, but most of your reply is incorrect.

@Carmaker1 And back to you. Dual airbags were not standard in the Continental until '93. The MB 560SEL was not sold in the United States. The Porsche 944 was a dealer forced option (because of DOT), so technically it wasn't standard from the factory. Acura didn't offer standard dual airbags until Dec. '93. And the Chrysler's did it in 1993. All of the Ford Taurus' had standard dual airbags starting with '92MY cars, which would mean starting mid 1991.

@Octonuke The MY1994 Camry received them in 1993, not the MY1995 1994 facelift. I remember as a kid wondering why my aunt's '94 Camry had perfect cuts on the right side dashboard and other similar looking ones were blank(likely 1992-93 models).

@TheZachalope Not exactly, please do a little more research. Lets not misinform others. The first two sedans to have standard dual airbags were the 1989 Lincoln Continental and the 1990 Mercedes-Benz 560SEL. Porsche was the first to offer dual airbags standard in 1986 on the '87 944 Turbo. Even in 1990, Acura offered standard dual airbags on the '91 Legend as well as Chrysler in 1992 for the 1993 LH models. The Taurus likely did this in late 1993.

you wouldn't need airbags if you didnt drive. - whats the fun in that though? fuck global warming.

HAHA ABS are optional in the print.
-
@Aragon159 LOL in 1971 the Chrysler Imperial had a ABS system called Sure Brake, so no it wasn't MB in 1978.
-
Or you could be lucky and have a legally deleted Air Bag in your 92!

@Aragon159 thats funny lol! had nothing to do with Mercedes Benz, systems were in place years! prior on aircraft and also on motorbikes, use on cars was in fact "pioneered" by an australian
I think Davidsfarm could use those airbags.
