and honestly, the delivery on "detach" and "poor baby" was just... augh...

honestly i think aaron was worse than vanessa. what i loved about the original cast was the contrast between mark and roger's characters... but now roger's become this wimp.
vanessas new to broadway style shows so i give her props for trying to take on a new role that's so different from what she's done in the past. but as mimi... she's all washed up. skylar's voice is beautiful though, i don't think he's getting enough credit.

I wish I went

I honestly think Vanessa did a really good job...... Her voice was shaky of course, but it's because her acting was really good. It just shows that she's so much more than the little High School Musical bubble and I think she's really talented and versatile. Mimi is the perfect role for her.

Aaron Tveit's last note.. fantastic. I personally like the way he portrayed Roger in this, with a sensitive side of that character that we never see. Skylar does a great job, Vanessa.. not so much. She doesn't belong with these talented people on that stage.

Just because we don't like Vanessa doesn't mean we're original cast only snobs. countless other actresses are much better than her, and not even just Daphne and Rosario. Renee Elise Goldberry, Lexi Lawson, even Tamyra Gray are MILLIONS of times better than her.

Aaron rocks. Austin is too obviously nerdy, I don't believe Maureen would fall for him. Adam Cantor and Anthony Rapp played Mark as a cool nerd, if you know what I mean. Vannessa looks 16, which she is supposed to, but acts it as well. Mimi is supposed to be wise for her age, and have lost all childhood characteristics way far too soon. Vannessa is still like a child to me, sorry.

...............her voice doesnt get me like the rent rent... sorry she wasnt ment to be in this. honest NOT mean or HATE but honest

I love the violins in this--it is a great, hautning touch.

That "tell you why" riff made my life complete.
