Yosi Piamenta test plays a carbon fiber "Flash" guitar

it all starts in the negev desert of Israel. a fellow named meir yaakov makes carbon fiber guitars by hand. i meet him and bring him to tel aviv to meet guitar legend Yosi Piamenta who falls in love with the guitar. "These guitars measure with the best in the world!" Piamenta declares with passion. "More beautiful than a Fender!" Before Piamenta even plugged in, he was striking the chords and marveling at the carbon fiber's unique natural sustain. "Once you plug in, your pickups can take you wherever you want. For me, the real test is how it sounds alone."

So is Yosi Piamenta going to leave his '63 fender behind for the new technology? Piamenta's eyes get big and misty and he begins to reminisce. "You know, when i found my guitar, i knew right away, without any amp or other equipment that she was for me. You can feel it in the way the guitar sits in your hand and how she naturally sounds. No, I have my tool and I am not looking for a replacement..."
