Video review of the extremely rare and very unique arcade game called The Act, by Cecropia. The Act was cancelled in 2007 after the developer had issues with the company they had selected to distribute the title and it's a real shame that they didn't find a different distributor as this is the most unique arcade game to come along in years and so far at The Game Grid it's been one of my strongest earning games.

As you will see in the video, the basic concept of the game is similar to Dragon's Lair or Space Ace - but it is taken to a whole new level thanks to the spinner/knob controller which allows the game to have far more interactivity that DL or SA ever could have. The game is also quite entertaining and one other thing that sets it apart form many arcade games is that many people who come in to play it will play until the very end as opposed to just the first couple of levels.

The Game Grid Arcade is a new arcade located at the Valley Fair Mall in West Valley City, Utah. We are next to the Red Robin Restaurant with our entrance on the outside - if you go inside the mall looking you'll just find a couple of lame arcades that aren't worth the trouble.

  • I apologize if this has been asked before, but do you know of any plans to translate it to PC or Consoles? I would have loved to have played this, they could have recouped some of their losses by going direct to console or even mobile devices!

  • @Draconis888 No, the company went bankrupt and no longer exists. After they produced the few kits and sold them on eBay, that was it. :/

  • DAYUM who's the animator?

  • They hired some ex-Disney guys, which is why this looks a bit like a Disney film from the late 80's early 90's.

  • I would pay to try this out on PSN/XBL/Wii Ware. It looks incredible!!!

  • They should have let this game go out there and dominate the gaming world! this is just crazy how it didn't pass. Could have been the greatest! Well, at least of this day and age.

  • Wish I could play it. My animation teacher worked on it.

  • @theatarian Such a shame. This could have heralded a new age for interactive animation...One can only hope there's a good samaratin who could create an avi of the disc to import into Daphne then.

  • Of all places for this game to up, I found it in the arcade room of a hotel in Warsaw Indiana. I was so intrigued by it I had to figure out where it came from.
