I replaced the factory exhaust with a single in, single out magnaflow exhaust. After the exhaust a Y pipe out to 3 inch chrome tips.

  • mm wow, it does sounds good, great job on that but how come you won't say the model number? was that the 11148 or the 12580? definitely will put them on my 92 R/T, let me know bro

  • @TropikanBlaze It is hard to remember the model number because I had this done so long ago. The two numbers you have are different than my set-up. I have a single in/single out muffler. I went with this set-up because of the straight through design. After the muffler I had a Y-Pipe welded on to restore the dual tips. This gives much greater sound and less restriction. The closest model number would be the 11215 or 11216. I kept the pipe size the same as stock because I have a non-turbo model.

  • That's fuckin mean bro. I just picked up a '97 3000gt SL. Do you reccomend doing this??? I've been talking to my exhaust guy about it and it seems perfectly fine. Less restriction, better sound and a bit more performance out of it. But, I live in California and I don't exactly know where a legal smog stands with that. I've always gotten hot smogs on my other cars... I guess I'm just trying to ask. Is it smog legel??? Haha.

  • @CaLiiAniiMaL I have loved this exhaust since I put it on. I also live in Cali and have had no problems smogging it. As long as you don't tamper with the cat you will be fine. You don't notice much of a difference in power. The sound is much better now than when I made this video. It is now slightly louder. In my opinion Borla and tanabe and other such brands are just selling you the name. No real difference in the product.

  • hey sounds good..did you take the cat off or put a high flow cat or what?

  • I didn't even mess with the cat. I left it all because its my only car and it had to be legal to pass smog. I just got rid of the factory components after the cat. If I had another car for a daily driver I would remove the cat tho.
