Gary Vaynerchuk tried 4 wines from OKlahoma and really gets into this show. Gary is hoping more people around the country from these 2nd and 3rd tier wine growing States send in wine for the Thunder Show!
I had our local wine shop order a bottle of the Chapel Creek Cabernet. It was TERRIBLE. I noticed right off that something was wrong. There was a fog, like when you open a sparkling wine, at the top. The wine was effervescent. Bubbles. The taste was way off.
I've never taken a wine back to the store for my money back, but I did this time. Pity. I live in Oklahoma and want to see this industry grow, but this was truly TERRIBLE.
Finally got a bottle of the Chapel Creek Meritage and it was as good as you can get. Had to drive out into the "country" and find the college winery - and the chapel actually exists! Meritage, Zin, dessert wine, even a Reisling. Bought them all, but loaded up on the Meritage - getting one of the few remaining cases. Andrew is an interesting fellow.
