Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band - Independence Day at Capital Center in Landover, Maryland on November 24/1980

24.11.80 Landover, MD, intro to 'Independence Day'
´´I remember that....when I used to come down in the morning to go to school....my mother used to always have the radio on in the kitchen....and it used to be tuned to this station.... this Top, Top 40-station in New York City, it was WMCA at the time....(?)....and I remember I used to go to school....I never did, I never did really good in school, I did ok ....but I could never, I could never pick up on what they were trying to put down (?)...and it wasn´t until I started to....listen to the radio....and hear some of the stuff that, this was in the early 60's and the radio was full of....full of a lot of great stuff....that....I got some idea that there was more to living than this, than what I was doing....and that if you....if you were willing to take some chances....then just maybe if you were lucky, things could be better than they were....anyway...."

  • BEST SAX SOLO EVER!!!!!

  • Goosebumps when the sax starts! omg, <3 this and many others of him!

    Tnx for the upload!

  • i hope that guy shut his lights off......

  • one of his great songs

  • Springsteen's songs are so brilliant, no matter how he interprets them they make the hair stand up on the back of my neck.

  • There's nothing like listening to Bruce's songs about the real meaning of what this day, July 4, "Independence Day" is all about. Enough about the fireworks, false patriotism, waving of flags and joining the masses in thinking that "freedom" has no consequences. While I do enjoy my freedom, I don't blindly agree with everything that we've done to achieve it. How many have had to die and how many are still clueless? True "Patriotism" and "Freedom" requires challenging our leaders.

  • I believe 0 dislikes speaks for itself. Happy Independence day from Texas, y'all.
