Hi Builtbybosche.
This is very interesting for me. I had to install Ubuntu onto my TX2HP because XP stopped working. The DVD recovery disk wouldn't work because the drive reverted to a CD ROM and couldn't read the disk; this was also why I didn't install Vista from the DVD.
My Question: Was this an upgrade or a fresh install? If it was a fresh install, how did you get the DVD to be recognised?
Thanks
Nice work Builtbybosche. All of driver is ok? ex. special function key.

Thanks mclaw77. Yes Sir, I went to Sony Vaio website via Google and to support for VGN-TX2HP and then downloaded original utils. Then I unzipped file and put then on in order down the list. I had to run in Windows XP compatibility mode (right click Application icon, then properties, then compatibilty mode. I think they have to be in order. And it worked. Fn keys and front volume keys. Power management too works. Much better OS my friend.

Thanks Builtbybosche. Are you know we can change hard disk from HDD to SSD in Sony VGN-TX? If we can, how can i do it? I think i will change OS in windows7 home premium.

Hi mclaw77. I have heard rumours about swapping HD for SSD but I'm afraid I don't know much about it I'm sorry. I only half use my 80GB HD and store data on a very small external HD (Freecom XXS 320GB). I can plug this into PS3 and watch films and music. I bought official Windows 7 OS, but my friend downloaded good version from torrent sites and it works as good as mine. I have dropped my TX PC 3 times onto hard floor by accident and it still works. Such a good machine built by a master in Japan
