the wheel of the unicycle is connnected to a mechanism that is hidden in the sign that moves him forward and back - its a trick wheel that if you see up close you can tell its a fake wheel. pretty old technology - i think this thing is over 20 years old. nothing new or revolutionary. go to Sarcos if you want to see impressive animatronics

Epcot's now-defunct World Of Motion ride had something like this,although it was nowhere near THIS sophisticated.

@zlotykwiatka i think he is on sum sort of track which allows the unicycle to move and wobble but still is able to hold up the bike

I'm willing to bet there's a gyroscope inside the torso of the animatronic, it's the thing that makes Segways stay upright.
