@febuary09 She didn't initiate the first one....but it appears she was eager for seconds.

@seniorshelby I thought it was an okay portrayal of the relationship. No, we'll never know. But since in that time, women married at 13/14 it's not farfetched that after a year or so in Paris they fell in love. He looked at her and saw a beautiful woman, not a slave. He saw a woman who resembled his late wife. He never took another lover after returning from Paris, which means perhaps he already had a companion that he cared about nearby .... And Sally never had a husband.

there's something highly creepy about this movie....

It really bothers me that this is being painted as pure romance. It was far from it. Even if he really loved her, imagine being with someone who treated you one way in private and completely different in public view. it must have been horrible for her. i'm sure it was just the best option for her at the time. As someone else posted entertaining-ish but complete Bull sh**.

i think its important to note that although Thomas Jefferson comes across hypocritical and downright disgusting to many for what he did with this young woman who happened to be enslaved.what he wrote bout blacks being inferior he wrote to please political views in those times, people can do that and feel the opposite and act accordingly. he had to hide their romance the best way possible, they both knew that. my theory is that Sally did not see herself as a slave the way we think. nope.

To all the haters...Jefferson was a bad ass.

Sally: "I Love You" .It seems to be just SEX for him!

Whom knows what truly happened but if they loved each other then good for them.

Oh my god. You guys are honestly over exaggerating. Thomas Jefferson was 46 when he returned from Paris with Sally. He wasn't 60. And Sally was 16. But not gonna lie, they should have chosen the actor from John Adams series. This one is really creepy. And the whole thing is completely historically inaccurate.
