@MrCraigtheChicken You can use multicam on whatever you want to do. Though I wouldn't for a drama because your looking more for the emotion and feel compared to a live piece like a concert.

So what if you have 100 clips per cam?...do you have to find the in point for everyclip? I'm pretty sure there's a faster and easier way instead of going clip by clip and marking in points

So much better to multi-cam edit on an Avid... FCP7 had some very annoying issues with it, like keys defaulting to switching the current clip instead of adding an edit and switching (like you would w a switcher), plus if I recall correctly, you need to STOP playback after each switch (if you remap the keys so you can cut and switch), where in Avid you can merely plow through it and switch w keys to get a rough, then run through again to refine. Setup is about the same, except the "open" thing

I shot my video on two canon gl1s and a canon gl2. should it cut together fine? also i put my three audio inputs split between three cameras for the talk show but i need all three pairs of audio in the timeline when i edit. is that possible? i also need to key each shot for green screen. how much did i get myself into?

Thanks!

It's a fine entry level lesson. Being reminded of using a clapboard reminded me to buy one, which I did because of seeing this. And the reminder of looking at all the clips underlying data *before* creating the multiclip is also a useful tip. I recently shot with a second camera with a friend, and his camera is different enough from mine to make it necessary to transcode into the same Prores. So thanks for this review.

You would have to be a real freakin' amateur to learn anything here. And in that case, those people have no business calling themselves "editors".
For people who are learning, don't be put off by people who already know stuff talking crap about people who don't know as much as they do. You always get that with tech people - that's what makes some of them feel good about themselves (Uh duh, you don't know how to do what?! How dare you even own a computer, you idiot!). If you are still learning, keep going and you'll be great at it one day (just don't turn into a jerk once you do know stuff).
