Barack Obama responds to Hurricane Gustav

Sen. Barack Obama plans to devote campaign resources to aid storm victims. CNN's Jim Acosta reports

My verdict: Those of you who think McCain is a saint due to this reaction of Hurricane Gustav..think again.

Obama's reaction is just as helpful. He is donating some of his campaign money into helping New Orleans, and is prepared to send volunteers in the case of an emergency.

On 5/23/07 Obama voted NO to $6.4 Billion Dollars for the Gulf States Hurricane relief efforts...The bill passed anyway..Mccain voted YES.

Fireworks displays are spectacular, the big fire that burned down the fireworks factor is not spectacular. The Titanic was spectacular, the sinking of the Titanic was not spectacular. So I guess to you all the destruction from Hurricane Katrina was spectacular.

"Spectacular" means something that has the qualities of a spectacle--something fascinating to see. You take your eyes virtuously away from the natural disaster every time it's on TV, I'm sure. It's a spectacle. It's spectacular.

And what does Obama say while he continues stumping on Sunday?

"It may not be as spectacular as a hurricane, but we've got a quiet storm sweeping through communities in America," he told a crowd estimated by the Calhoun County Sheriff's Office at about 15,000.

SPECTACULAR? He actually said that about s disaster? Doesn't sound to me like he steered too far away from that "pot shop" using the catastrophe.
