on the original urtext's there is no tempo for any of the inventions or sinfonias

Thank you for this piece of information. I still recommend that you do this piece using the metronome and with a very slow tempo to understand the basic timing and then let the natural maturity for comprehending the piece take its place where you can melt or manipulate a little bit with the timing and this will happen naturally reflecting your feeling to the piece. Good luck learning it.

playing this for a comp, im doing grade5 exam this year it's around grade5 right? i'm finding it easy but i am not sure what speed to play at.

good tempo, not faster - not slower... playing it not to fast gives it less a mathematical tone. good emotion.
