I went to glastonbury first time in 1995 before the fence and loads of times afterwards and yeh glastonbury was more of a laugh before the fence got erected but they were MASSIVE overcrowding and general scally problems so its a bit of both really its a safer place now but i feel its getting a bit too much like a rich student kids holiday up there.

I was there in 2000 and it really was scary. I was up in the fields by the lone tree, Kings field is it, from the wednesday just watching the people coming through in hundreds. it was really hard to move around, at peak times there were worries that there could be another hilsborough in places . Unfortunately the spirit of the place, caring for each other was long gone by then. But I have been back since though I said I never would. its just different now from the 70's and 80's and even 90's

Glastonbury is (like life) what you make of it.I first went in 1993 and even then there were people saying I was 10 years too late! I still go - am going this year (2010)- the view from the stone circle across the whoe site at 1am in the morning is priceless.R.I.P the very great Joe Strummer by the way.

used to be a great festival but now just a money making machine! I tryed to break the fence this week with no joy! been going to glasto for 10 years and I will be not going again! the security are not mean fiddler now but a private army from bristol (charming bunch really jusut doing there job) but sadly glasto is finished! looking for smaller festivals from now on =[
