  • You don't have to defend this video to anyone. I thought it was really well done and a nice tribute to your friends at Colgan. I have a couple of really good friends who fly there, and I came very close to flying there myself, but went with another airline closer to home. Although the cause of the accident is unfathomable to those of us in this biz, I could only hope that I have friends like you who would do something like this for me. Take care

  • Thank you.

  • Pilot error that results in multiple fatalities does not warrant warm fuzzies on youtube. If anything this vid should be replaced with a Colgan investigation piece on how management can still sleep at night, after their scrape the bottom of the barrel new hire policy, wiped out a cabin full of innocents. And shame on all the other, head in the sand airline frauds that have debased the industry. BTW, I possess an ATP with thousands of hours, so the CVR etc. speaks volumes Capt. Moonbat...

  • First off, check the date of the video, it was posted right after it happened before any of the findings. I flew for Colgan, I flew with the FO quite a bit and she was the FO for my last flight there. I am flying in Japan now as I was when this happened and it was a way for me to deal with the loss unable to grieve with my former coworkers. I am the first one to admit and get pissed off that this was pilot error pending the NTSB final report. But that doesn't take away the fact that they....

  • ...were fathers, mothers, sisters, brothers, daughters, and sons. I watch the computer recreation and am dumbfounded at what happened. I don't condone what the crew did nor does this video celebrate it. This video is a memorial to the people I knew personally and flew with.

Secondly, three people in this video had nothing to do with the crash. The two Flight Attendants and the deadheading Captain were not at the controls. As for experience I have an ATP in 2 countries a couple type....

  • ...ratings, thousands of hours(in the Q400), and was a training Captain/Check Airman. I had flown that same route numerous times(EWR-BUF) in that exact airplane(N200WQ). Hell, I delivered N200WQ from the Bombardier factory in Toronto. So I know, intimately, the factors involved. And it is not lost on me that 50 people died because of a dumb screw up with REF speeds and an INCR REF switch followed by unexplainable action and basic airmanship. For those who this offends, don't watch.

  • as a pilot we lose love ones and we pay tribute to them. no pilot needs to die..

  • i lost my dad and brother to this crash and i learned the piolets had faild there flight training

  • this is nice i don't think they deserve some of the horrible things that are being said i'v seen a video that they were not paid a proper level of salery befitting the job and they had to commute and the girl was unwell as a future pilot i was shocked that colgan doesn't value safety or their crews i think they'd be happy you did this for them and maybe they'll make me a safer pilot

  • Guess what one of my friends was on this aircraft about a week before it crashed. I feel sorry for the victims who lost their lives and for their family . By the way nice vid.

  • Great video. Thanks for sharing.

  • I like this memorial video, celebrating incompetence.

  • Because of the pilots on that flight my friend's life was cut short.

  • From the comments of GUGregg you'd think this flight crew flew the plane into the ground with murderous intent. We can only hope that the GUGreggs of the world are very few and far between!

  • I work for Continental Terminal C newark. I worked that gate In the Morning and still work It often on gate 70. It always hurts to this day to know that place left that gate just something that don't go away.
