An uncle went through a "vanishing hitchhiker" experience. The usual case, someone asks for a ride home, in this case, a young woman. Apperently she had a scarf, after reaching the destination (her house), she got off, my uncle noticed she left her scarf, so he got off and went to the womans house, her mother answered and said it belonged to her daughter who died two years earlier in a car accident.
