  • Thanks for the "sweet song" dulcimer. I am new to You Tube. I'm not certain, but your instrument appears to be a Master Works. There is a clear shot of your hammers and I do recognize those. I'm the craftsman who made them. I have been surprised how often they have shown up on this web site.

best wishes, I enjoyed your music.

  • Hello Woodcraftsman! I have almost wornout these hammers, the wood side is wearing thin, the leather side is what I played this tune with. Do You have a Web site where I can buy more?

  • i love this song! also, i'd like to say hello to my uncle marvin!

  • Hello Ruth? Hope You're doing Good.

  • That is a very near instrument you have there! Great job of playing on it ! ! ! I play this on piano

  • @Toller59 i must agree but it was still very enjoyable!

  • Nice attempt...however, you must remember that pauses are just as much a part of the music as the notes played.

  • nice but you need to try again

  • Why do you mess up the rhythm?

  • There goes the ice cream truck

  • A beautifun rendition of a beautiful piece. My husband loves the hammered dulcimer. He heard it at the UC Berkeley campus and we went to the Hammered Dulcimer Festival in Evart, MI and bought one but it is very hard to learn and it has just been sitting for years. Your playing gives us inspiration to try again. Thanks for the wonderful post.

  • Beautiful ! What a lovely way to end Mothering sunday here on the Emerald Isle of Ireland,,. My Babies have all flown the nest now but, the memories of my first jewelery

box with a twirling ballerina, plus this tune remains like the love in my heart for my children. Eternal.

Thank you for the joy of hearing it played on the Dulcimer.

    Namaste.

  • Dave here. I like the sound of the hammered dulcimer. First heard one played, accompanied by guitar played by a pair of street artists in San Francisco in October of '74. They were very good. The dulcimer player performed a song that was entitled something like "A Soldier's Dream." It was played very rapidly & he seemed never to miss a note. I prefer Frank Mills' version. I like a rich sound.

Thanks for having this, though. It's good. They said, "hammer dulcimer." Whatever.

  • That's nice!
