On May 27, 2009, Shelby County became the first No-Kill county in Kentucky. This date marked one year of no euthanasia of adoptable animals in Shelby County Kentucky. Nathan Winograd, the founder of the No-Kill Mission was unable to attend the celebration but sent a congratulatory video.
Shelby County Animal Shelter with the help of the No Kill Mission - a division of the Shelby County Humane Society, Woodstock Animal Foundation and Operation Catsnip made this mission possible. We are striving to keep Shelby County a No-Kill county and welcome any donations of money, food, crates, carriers, leashes, collars, bedding and volunteer time!
What a great message - and the song at the end was the most wonderful use of that song that I've ever heard -- reduced me to jelly! Congrats to Shelby County for such a fantastic accomplishment - all the animals thank you!!!
