Another beautiful weekend enabled us to try a different sort of test with the Remington 870. Firing through drywall finished walls with some sort of softer tissue on the other side.

  • How many feet away from the wall were you shooting?

  • @gtiapr3 muzzle was 12 feet from wall

  • so looking at this how do you think 3 in 000 would fair it what i use because i have other options as well

  • @bigjohn20081983 I think it comes down to what are you comfortable using. Point one, will it do the job? What we demonstrating was that the idea of a "safe" round has no basis. Thanks for watching!

  • My body isn't a pumpkin, but it's starting to resemble one in shape...

  • @snidelywhiplash you are not alone, we will soon be just one big pumpkin patch

  • you should have used a black pumpkin, lol

  • blew a 30lb pumpkin in half today with a .50 muzzle loader. fun fun fun

  • Where's the birdshot test? I keep my shotgun loaded with #8 (a .45 acp is other defense) thinking that the birdshot wont hurt anyone very badly after it goes through a wall unless you are less than about 12 feet from the wall. I'm sure it would still blind someone if hit in the face but other areas should produce only superficial wounds. Seeing as my house isn't large most shots at intruders would be less than 12 feet, unintended targets should be through a wall and more than 12 feet.

  • @mimixownzall You are right that most homes in the US don't have insulation between rooms, but actually it is very useful unless the airspace is sealed well. Things in the US are made cheap most of the time. I put insulation in the walls just to stop airflow (a few pieces of sheetrock and 1 roll of insulation found in the dump, and a day of cutting/rewalling) and get like 10 bucks off heat a month and 15 bucks off AC, about 35% savings. If theres a fireplace airflow is good for heating though

  • @usframe yeah walls today are made easy i mean a good bb-gun can go thru em into the next room the reason i use the 000 is it what i grew up using hunting ect When i did law enforcment explorers its what the local S.O uses and a few other reason so i feel i have shot this round enough to use it for home defense te other main options are a 380 and a sks shootin 762x39
