  • He didn't like the pitch invasion did he !

  • Double movement @ 2:15. WTF? I played in those days and fail to understand the call, but what is great is that the decision is accepted, including by the commentators! I wish this aspect of sportsmanship was still with us!

  • like how shaft is playing at the end of the game when they wait for the highlights.

  • Never seen the green shorts before...

  • look how close the crowd is to the action!

  • i remember running onto the field, as a kid, after the game to pat the players on their backs, nowadays you`d be jumped on by 130kg bouncers, bring back the good ol` days of life in oz

  • @Richardhedditch261 And that 1975-1976 scenorio regarding Wests and Balmain both just missing the top 5 [semi-finals] did, in the fullness of things, radically alter Rugby League history away from Balmain and Wests in favor of Parramatta and Canterbury Bankstown, with the latter two going on to share in those mid-1970s spoils, and so on through the rest of the 1970s, all the 1980s and beyond. Sort of sad, really.

  • 1976. Those were the days when I used to follow the Sydney rugby league avidly. Souths played poorly that year without challenging for the wooden spoon, because Newtown got an irretrievable mortgage on that, [and for the next ywo successive years]. Wests, like Balmain, were semi-final contenders for most of that season, but fell away in the second half of the season to both just miss the top five. And that was, as it turned out, a scenorio exactly similar to 1975, in retrospect.

  • We used to run on to the field in New Zealand back in the late 70's and 80's. Now you have to contend with burly security and police dogs and a $1000.00 fine.
