Funeral Oration by the priest in Alan Parker's movie. Music by Trevor Jones

They want me to say, "Let us not forget that two white boys also died helping negros help themselves." They want me to say, "We mourn with the mothers of these two white boys." But the state of Mississippi won't even allow these white boys to be buried in the same cemetary as this negro boy. I say, "I have no more love to give! I have only anger in my heart today, and I want you to be angry with me! That I am sick and I am tired, and I want You to be sick and tired with me! I..I..I am sick and tired of going to the funerals of black men who have been murdered by white men! And I..I am sick and tired of the people of this country who continue to allow these things to happen!" What is an unalienable right if You are a negro? What does it mean, "equal treatment under the law"? What..what does it mean, "liberty and justice for all"? Now I say to these people, "Look at the face of this young man, and You will see the face of a black man. But if You look at the blood shed, it is red! It is like yours! It is just like yours!"

  • @F5veSeveN they do right at the start

  • @99fighterboy Not exactly. The story was actually loosely based on real murders of Civil Rights workers at the time (there were three victims, just like in the movie). The partnership of the two main characters in the movie were also loosely based off of two real FBI agents. The two white victims of the Civil Rights Murders were (like you said) Jewish. I'm not sure why the movie didn't mention that the two white victims were Jewish, though. But still, you're correct :)

  • heil kkk !!!

  • @Nopartyforme82

I don't say that often, because mostly I try to think christian (even if I'm not a great believer), but there are some people who deserve to suffer or even to die. People who have thoughts like you. For me people who say things like that are no humans any longer but dirt. And we really don't need that.^^

  • Tell the Palestinians to stop blowing themselves up and handing out candy after their terrorists decapitate Jewish babies

  • Why didn't you throw it away?

  • You are about as intelligent as a tomato plant or a housecat that's been hit over the head repeatedly with a brick

  • If you want blacks to go back to Africa so much why did you kidnap them from their own countries in the first place? They're only good to you as slaves? When someone wants to be treated like a human being, suddenly its time to form a lynch mob to "protect the white race". Protect yourselves? Are you kidding me? I know who the victims are and it definitely isn't you

  • I think they did at one point

  • This is a true story, and those 2 white boys we're Jews, the movie should have mentioned it.
