Rethinking Marxism Panel on Utopia, Religion, and Violence on November 7, 2009: Jason Kosnosk on "Specter and Spirit: Ernst Bloch and Jacques Derrida and the Work of Marxist Utopia, Manuel Yang on "A Utopian Map of the World: Oscar Wilde's "The Soul of Man Under Socialism and the Libertarian Socialist Traditions of Anarchism and Marxism"
Religion was created out of oppression and ignorance of the unknown. We now have a method of gathering information of the unknown, the scientific method, so there is no need for religion anymore. The Marxist utopia is do-able in my opinion but we'll have to wait until capitalism burns itself to the ground, which will inevitably happen at the rate their going. Marxism is freedom and fairness, humans will gravitate towards this in due time.
