Gregor Tresher - Frontline

"Tresher has built his career primarily on well-sculpted club weapons, but Lights from the Inside shows a different side of his ability. "DJing is my first profession," says Tresher. "It's what I love to do and what I have been doing for almost twenty years now, even before before I started to write my own music. But for this record, I had the feeling that this shouldn't be my priority." Though undoubtedly clubbable, the record's 12 tracks put a lot of focus on atmosphere and "melodies that are more subtle and develop as you're listening." According to a press release, one of his main inspirations behind the album was Disintegration by The Cure. Aside from "As Days Go By," which came out this year on Ovum, all of the tracks on are previously unreleased."
