It's alright mate. Everyone has their own "scares" when out on the water. I got stuck in a current last month and ended up taking a 30 foot waterfall that I otherwise would not have kayaked down.
Just don't let it scare you away from the sport.

Thanks for that advice mate - had my first ever swim earlier today going over some grade 3 rapids. Tried to stand up but couldnt, i feel lucky nothing worse happened now!
