I have decided to experience for myself, and with those who want to join me, that we can suffer a little for those who are suffering a lot
On 1.10.09 I applied for entry into the 2009 Badwater Ultramarathon (http://www.badwater.com/). On 2.16.09, along with 89 other athletes from 15 different countries, I was accepted to the invitation-only toughest foot-race in the world.
Badwater is a 135-mile non-stop footrace that starts at the lowest point in the Western Hemisphere at -282 feet below sea level in the Death Valley desert in the middle of July, and finishes three mountain ranges and 135 miles later.
Ambient air temperatures average 130 degrees. The pavement exceeds 200 degrees.
