Overpowered Much?

The westbound work train arrives back at Oroville, California, bound for the yard on December 15, 2009 at 4:04 PM. The short 9-car train is returning from Belden in the Feather River Canyon where Union Pacific has been performing track work recently. After the train enters the yard the crew will spot the train, reposition the power at the east end of the yard, put together a new train, and tie it down where it will be ready for the next day.

I once saw a BNSF train in Oroville with 5 engines that was only carrying about 10 hoppers and a few empty autoracks

The BNSF UP trackage rights train from Memphis-Houston will sometimes have 2 Dash9 and 10-15 cars.

there could be a bunch reasons why the doubled up locomotives like that. But still a bit over powered.... LOL

same thing happens here like two GP40s and one lumber flat or 2 SD70s on a 6 car local......hey BNSF does it too 3 dash 9s an d a 89ft flat lol

Quite a bit overpowered! I once caught two CSX ES44ACs pulling two box cars.
