| Third & last step of my "Valco Test" |

- A 1963 Supro "Belmont" with a fiberglass body plugged to an old european fuzz pedal & going to a 1957 Supro "Spectator" home amplifier.
- Only one pickup to test, with volume at its maximum & tone at its higher position
- The fuzz controls were in the same position for the three tests
- Amp was at the 1/3 of its maximum volume

As I was pretty tired & hungry for the test, I'm pretty sorry now of the lack of playing imagination... Gasp !
Finally, this guitar is the most powerful of the three in volume (Does the fiberglass body helps ?) & has its own specific tone, in comparison... This guitar is getting so well with a fuzz add !
Once again, it has only one fat single coil pickup...

Seems to me that this guitar have certainly influenced the design of Starsky's Gran Torino...

  • i own one just like it- missing the supro emblem on the headstock- red and white in color- and for sale for the right price- i've owned it for 20 years. it was my first guitar. how do you find out what year it was made? i've never been able to find any information on these guitars. the serial # on it is G8752 if that helps any?

  • @HIGHTONED68OLDS

Hello. Considering this serial number, your exemplar is also from 1963.

The copies of Supro catalogs I've got are confirming this fact...

By the way, new copies of the original emblem are available on ebay.

I would keep it at your place, but have a good sale !

  • Yes, it definitely sounds "plus malade" than the wooden ones. Did I tell you I got a '66 Dual-Tone recently? Hehehe

  • I agree: this one's surely the sickest of the three !

& No, you didn't told me, you crazy "Suprohead" !

(Now that I've seen that you have the cap, I guess you're the head... ; )

    - White body & black rubber joint ?-

Take care of your growing Valco troop...
