@BDean97 well technicly its is an arguement but i never took it that way

you can tell when these bands really are just sellign their careers to the record company's by their music, when theres true emotion in the songs and is really relatable tot he person then they are legitimently writing it

like in SP, i highly doubt they would find anyone to write a song about billy corgon's dead mother or in mcs i doubt they would find someone to write about justin pierres drug addiction and near suicide

@BDean97 yah and all those bands i mentioned are not that, its obvious when a band is a slave to the record compony, a good example is bands like taproot

@jsh020 are you in the studio while they write the music? Most bands get help from the record label that's why bands are so drug users, depressed and so forth they have no control over their creations they just do what the record label tells them.They are slaves to the record label so to speak.

@BDean97 yah thats doesnt excuse it, smashing pumpkins are mainstream and with th exception of a couple songs off aeroplane flies high they write all their stuff. i can anme a bunch of other band sin mainstream, motion city soundtrack, rise against, brand new, wonder years all these guys write their own music despite being in the mainstream
