Acclaimed as a "Marshall in a box" this pedal has been dropping jaws like it's a 70′s Marshall amp. It plays nice with all kinds of amps and has a lot of dirt on tap. With 3 knobs, 1 external, and 1 internal switch, there are plenty of ways to customize the sound you can get out of the DLS. The internal bright switch will allow you to remove the bright capacitor (version 1 VS version 2). Essentially, people were finding that their pedals were too bright when they rolled off the gain (most prevalent in brighter amps). So the folks at Catalinbread wired in a switch that would bypass a capacitor, which would darken up the sound a bit. Personally, I felt the Blues Junior I used in the video was fine with the brightness intact, so I let it be. The tone knob has a nice range that will take you from a smooth sound to a fat sound. The Rock/Rawk switch kicks in just a bit more gain. All of these features make this pedal a worthy tool in anyone's Rock N' Roll arsenal.
