For what ended up becoming a legendary career in the country and western field, Conway started out as something of a "rock and roller" with Top Ten hits like "Lonely Blue Boy" in January of 1960. By his own admission Conway proclaimed those early years, "just wasn't me".

  • there must be a connect to this song and Danny by elvis - can anyone expand this theory. They sound the same and have simular lyrics

  • @MrPoshmatthewa This recording was first offered to Elvis who turned it down during the period Elvis was to play the role of Danny Fisher in "King Creole". What relationship this song may have to that is problematic.

  • Hail, Nocaro! Your noble contributions are underscored by the fact that YouTube pulls two out of every three that you post, "because of copyright issues". I wouldn't bother to thank you, were it not for the fact that quality sound and great pictorials compose the signature of all Nocaro presentations. You are getting comments of appreciation because there is not a better presentation of Conway Twitty's classic on this site.

  • @MysticSojourner You're way too kind...thanks...Nocaro

  • @Nocaro that figures, many thanks for that info.

  • sweet tune¡¡

  • Conway may not have liked his early crossover songs but I loved them, especially this one. His voice in this recording does not have the richness it had later but this song introduced me to Conway's music and I am grateful for that
