In English (The Dream That Went Up In Flames) Sapna Jal Giaa was a film Lez Barstow directed for West Midlands Fire Service in 1992. It was aimed at reducing fire hazards in Asian homes.
Working with fairly rudimentary equipment, the young Lee Chambers did a great job of his first ever solo edit. Tim Vanat and Vayu Naidu were excellent cast as the central character "Shabnam" and the group leader. Graeme Owen produced some atmospheric photography with minimal lighting. Apart from his translation skills, Ajmer Bains was a terrific storyteller.
