6233 'Duchess of Sutherland' on 'The Yorkshire Coronation', Sherburn in Elmet 10th April 2010

On a lovely springs evening, Me and my Dad popped across to Sherburn in Elmet station, near York, to see LMS Princess Coronation Class No.6233 Duchess of Sutherland passing by on the return leg of the annual Yorkshire Coronation rail tour, usually hauled by No.6233, the train ran from Leicester to Scarborough with a Locomotive Exchange at Derby (Leicester Derby section is Diesel Hauled). As some of you might be able to tell the Loco has had a new coat of paint applied over the winter, rather than the slightly in-accurate LMS Crimson it carried for the last few years, it now bares a very smart Wartime Black livery, a definite improvement I must say.

In this video we see the Black Duchess starting to speed up after being slowed for a signal check in the lovely evening sunlight, albeit slightly behind time, building up speed passing through the station. Minutes later she was stopped again to take on water for the run back to derby where a waiting diesel would take the train back to Leiecester Station.
