I also hear that different frequencies have been used for what we call notes... for example I consider A to be a certain pitch, but I hear that the what some have considered 'A" is different in different regions and over time.... Maybe you and others use a different "a" than I do? best,Rose

Nice fiddling there! I have been learning a little old time myself, and had a question. I tend to play this tune in standard and have hear other versions as well as your own where I sound totally off tune! Is it the effect of recording equipment, or are you in another tuning?

My cousin sent this video to me because my Grandmammy and Grandaddy were married on the 8th of January. He was a fiddle player and played it to her on his fiddle every anniversary.

You have the style right! This must've been what it was like to sit around the fireplace back in 18__ and hear someone take out the fiddle or the banjo and play the latest tune, or the tune everyone loved!
