Is there a version with ONLY Jerry on vocals? This is one of my favorite recordings, but I would like to hear the difference without Pigpen.
-
fillmore, way too together for acid test, that's pig, you can tell by the way he's says love
-
@Blibbyblu wat are you talking about this is the fucking fire grateful dead family head stash
-
@Jimala3 ughh pig was the lead singer of that band at that time...if ur one of those selfphish jerry lovers who thinks jerry is the only member of the band gtfo
-
Pigpen is singing lead, Jerry is harmony. all thru the fillmore acid test jerry and pig's microphones were sporadically not working. that is why you hear only Jerry. The complete film of "the acid test" is on youtube. search "merry Pranksters Acid test."

Jerry is leading vocals....Pig is the backup...nuff said.
-
The main singer that you hear IS Jerry Garcia, indeed Pigpen is singing here but he's singing backup, I mean just listen to the dominating voice it's obviously Garcia's voice.
-
@GalateaCirce I agree...that IS Pigpen singing.

i believe this is from january '66. i know it's from the fillmore, pre-bill graham days

Pigpen IS the lead singer here. If any of you hear Jerry it's because he's singing along with Pigpen. Listen carefully . . . hear him now? Absolutely Pigpen's voice!

It would of made much more sense to have Pig Pen sing this song...
